Manchester wine merchants pool resources

13 September, 2010

A group of wine merchants from the Manchester area are again pooling resources to host a major consumer event in the city next month.

The Big Indie Wine Fest is organised by Hanging Ditch, the city centre merchant, as well as The Vineyard in Ramsbottom, Reserve in Didsbury, Wine Buffs in Warrington and online merchant Smithfield Wine. Other businesses involved include Harvey Nichols, the Co-operative, Manchester Wine School and Gaucho.

The event, which includes tasting masterclasses, takes place at The Peoples History Museum in Spinningfields and opens on the evening of Friday, October 8. There are two four-hour sessions on the Saturday.

Tickets are priced £10 for the event, which first took place last year.
