Versare relaunches with extended varieties and labels

Cellarvino has relaunched its Versare Italian wine brand with new labels and outer packaging.

A Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz have also been added to the range, which is aimed at independent retailers through the wholesale channel.

The new wines join a line-up which already comprises Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rosso and Bianco.

The new labels give greater emphasis to Veneto – the region where the wines are made – and the brand name and grape variety have been colour-coded. The wines have an rrp of £3.99.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
