Farmhouse cider sales now online

01 October, 2010

An online business has been formed to sell cider from farmhouse producers directly to consumers.

Cider Club UK has been founded by IT consultant and web designer Duncan Mercer and is selling ciders from individual producers by the 12-bottle case, along with a number of mixed cases.

The service also invites users to join its Cider Circle to receive a pre-selected case by subscription. Circle members get a 10% discount on extra purchases.

Mercer said he started the business in response to finding a lack of traditional farm-produced ciders online.

“It’s very early days but each day we’re gradually gaining awareness,” he said.

Producers represented on the website include Brook Farm, Mahorall and Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry.
