The scheme is being organised by the region’s community safety unit and is supported by West Lothian council, the police, the local NHS, fire service and the Tobacco, Drug & Alcohol Partnership.
Acting chief inspector Stephen Eliot, the community safety unit manager, said: “The bottle collars are designed to be a reminder about the issues associated with alcohol.
“We know that adults are buying alcohol for young people who are under 18. The collar carries the message that if you buy alcohol for anyone under the age of 18 you are committing an offence.”???
