New look for Austrian wine site

The Austrian Wine Marketing Board has revamped its website, austrianwine.com.

The new-look site offers all its information in five languages – German, English, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. It features a calendar of Austrian wine-related events, new maps of Austria and its winegrowing regions, a picture gallery, comprehensive wine glossary and an overview of AWMB activities and offers.

It has also made each page easy to share via social media.

AWMB general manager Willi Klinger said: “We remodeled our corporate design last year and now our new online appearance completes our expectations for state-of-the-art style, information and design.”

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
