John Smith's extends racing links

John Smithís has extended its horse racing sponsorship to the Wetherby and Sedgefield courses in 2011.

The Heineken-owned ale brand will again sponsor the Grand National and in total will back 203 races at 37 courses across the UK.

The year will also see the second jump season for Smithy the Horse, a four-year-old co-owned by thousands of John Smithís drinkers.

Other notable sponsorships during the course of the year include the John Smithís Stakes at Newbury and the John Smithís Cup at York.

The brand claims to take 35,000 trade customers and consumers racing each year.

Hofmeister may need more than the bear essentials to succeed

So, George The Bear is back. Itís hard for some of us oldies to fathom, but there are those under, say, 40 who canít actually remember Hofmeister and feel the cultural jolt supplied by the return of both the bear and the beer whose marketing campaigns it used to front.
