The organisation’s latest Quarterly Market Report says RTDs - the category which includes brands such as WKD and Smirnoff Ice - are up 11% in value terms, with Champagne up 9% and sparkling wine up 8%.
Spirits also performed well, with a 7% increase. Wine sales were up 2.7% in the take-home sector, and 3.5% in the on-trade. The average price of a bottle now stands at £4.47.
There was a 28% increase in sales of wines priced between £6.01 and £7.
