The London brewer said in a statement: ďWe have announced a recall of 33cl bottles of Golden Pride, Organic Honey Dew and London Pride because of an isolated issue at our bottle manufacturer, which could result in small fragments of glass appearing in the bottle.Ē It said 50cl bottles were not affected.
The recalled bottles can be identified by their Ďbest beforeí dates, which are Ė London Pride 33cl: 16/9/11, 1/10/11, 2/10/11, 3/10/11 and 1/11/11; Organic Honey Dew 33cl: 24/5/11 and 30/6/11; and Golden Pride 33cl: 16/9/11. Anyone with queries about returning affected bottles can call a helpline on 0800 288 9417.
This is the latest in a round of scares over glass fragments in drinks, with AB Inbev UK recalling batches of Stella Artois and Budweiser last month and the Co-op ≠recalling some of its Californian wines early last year.
John Roberts, managing director of the Fullerís Beer Company, said: ďThe vast majority of our beer on sale in the UK, including the more widely available 50cl bottles, remains unaffected. We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused and urge them to call the helpline should they find they have purchased a bottle from one of the batches.Ē
