Foster's to sponsor comedy awards

Foster’s is extending its sponsorship links with the world of comedy by backing the 2011 British Comedy Awards which take place on January 22.

The awards ceremony will be preceded by a nominations show on January 15 and a week of one-hour shows called Comics’ Choice to be broadcast on Channel 4.

The live awards programme will also be shown on Channel 4, and will be hosted by Jonathan Ross.

Mark Given, brands director at Heineken UK, said: “The sponsorship of these long-running awards brings an exciting new dimension to a portfolio of comedy support, which also encompasses the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards and more than 100 hours of new comedy programming on Channel 4."
