Hogan’s Cider finds favour in the US

Midlands-based Hogan’s Cider has signed up with US speciality beer importer Shelton Brothers of Massachusetts to send shipments of its bottled ciders and perry.

Lauren Shepard, regional importer at Shelton Brothers, said: “Traditional English cider is very new to the American palate, so we were pleasantly surprised when customers wrote to tell us that it is the best cider they’d had.

“Traditional English perries are a rarity in the US, especially well-made ones.”

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
