Off-trade boss appointed by Butcombe

Bristolís Butcombe Brewery has appointed its first ever off-trade sales director.

Martin Holland has been assigned to develop Butcombeís national accounts as well as oversee its wholesale and independent business.

He has previously worked with national brands such as Golden Wonder, Panda Pops, Badger ales and Brecon mineral water.

Managing director Guy Newell said: ďHis excellent knowledge of the multiple retail, convenience and wholesale sectors will be a great asset to the team.Ē

Butcombe began bottling its flagship Butcombe Bitter at the end of 2010 and it has been sold nationally through Morrisons since January.

What makes wine special

Reaching the 50th instalment of Hemmingís Way is hardly the biggest milestone, but I donít need much of an excuse to pour myself a glass of champagne before getting dressed. Itís a better reason than I had for all 49 other instalments, anyway. Not that that stopped me.
