Smokehead offers Glasgow gig prize

Smokehead Islay single malt is teaming up with Visit Scotland to offer a trip to Glasgow as an on-pack competition prize.

The competition is featured on promotional stickers on bottles of the brand, and the prize includes two nights in a five-star hotel, tickets to a gig at the SECC venue, £300 spending money, entry to the Viper Club in the city’s West End, and a bottle of Smokehead.

The promotion follows on from recent music sponsorships by the Ian Macleod Distillers brand.

Marketing director Iain Weir said: “Glasgow has one of the most exciting music scenes in the UK and working with Visit Scotland to promote this is the perfect way for us to build on Smokehead’s growing rock credentials, offering a competition that will really appeal to our target customer base.”?Meanwhile, members of the rock band Sons of Icarus have each been presented with a limited edition bottle of Smokehead Extra Black.

The group received the whisky as part of their prize in the Marshall Ultimate Band Contest, one of Smokehead’s music sponsorships.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
