Stephen Fry, Jimmy Carr, Al Murray and Frank Skinner have lent their names to crisp flavours in a campaign being billed as the Clash of the Comics, with the public voting for their favourite flavour. The specially created crisp flavours are Stephen Fry Up, Jimmy Con Carrne, Steak & Al Pie and Frank Roast Dinner.
The campaign will include TV advertising and aims to raise £1 million for Comic Relief. Five pence from the sale of each limited-edition pack will be donated to the charity.
The winning flavour will be announced on Red Nose Day on March 18, while the three losing comedians will be waxed as a forfeit.
“We hope our customers will help us support this worthy cause by stocking up on the limited-edition flavours and drive sales with impactful merchandising and POS,” said Walkers marketing director Miranda Sambles.
“Retailers are at the heart of the local community and will be instrumental in engaging their customers with this campaign.”?Frank Skinner added: “All my life I’ve searched for something that was truly worth fighting for – something noble, uplifting and made from potatoes.”
