International Cider Challenge judges named

22 March, 2012

Cider buyers for Tesco and Sainsbury’s are among the judges for the International Cider Challenge.

Tesco cider buyer Kathryn Clarke and Sainsbury’s Gareth Roots join OLN’s Independent Cider Retailer of the Year Louise Smith, of the Jug & Bottle, beer writer Pete Brown, Aston Manor sales and marketing director Gordon Johncox, and Tom Oliver of Oliver’s Cider & Perry.

There will also be three representatives of the National Association of Cider Makers on the panel – Simon Russell, who is chairing the judges, Heineken's Gabe Cook, and technical and regulatory consultant Nick Bradstock.

More than 100 ciders will be judged in nine categories, including one for design and packaging, at the White Horse pub in London’s Parsons Green on April 3.
