Bodegas Navajas added to PLB line-up

Independent wine merchants are the target for PLB’s newest agency, Rioja winery Bodegas Navajas, which joins the Sussex company’s line-up from March 1.?Located in Navarrete, the family business produces 1.6 million bottles annually across the range, which consists of a Rioja Joven and a Rioja Crianza including white and rosé styles, as well as a Rioja Reserva and Gran Reserva.?“Spain is performing extremely well in the UK and we see this appointment as a great opportunity,” said PLB buying director for Europe Nick Tatham MW.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
