Retail trend boosts Hancocks’ business?

Confectionery cash and carry Hancocks has reported a 4% increase in customer numbers and a 3.5% rise in sales in 2010.?The company said the business had been boosted by more independent retailers looking to add points of difference to their businesses through their confectionery range.?Sales of branded products were ahead by 12% in the Christmas trading season and own-label was up 11%.?“It’s a great result in such a tough climate,” said managing director Mark Watson.

“We continue to focus on leading the confectionery wholesale market in terms of range, pricing, availability and service.?“It’s not an easy time for wholesale and we need to keep challenging everything we can do to see if we can do it better.”?The latest addition to the Hancocks range is Blackjacks and Fruit Salad in sweet tubes with a £1 rrp.?Hancocks has 18 depots in major towns and cities across mainland Britain.
