Gordon & MacPhail hit the high seas

Gordon & MacPhail has teamed up with the Glasgow Clipper crew as race partner in this year's round-the-world yacht race.

The sponsorship deal will allow the drinks company to market its Speyside single malt Benromach brand around the world as well as boost resources for the crew.

Gordon Ritchie, head of clipper projects at Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: "As other race partners have discovered, the race enables them to take their brands around the world to new and established markets."

The crew will set sail from Liverpool on Sept 16 and travel to Singapore, Hawaii, Brazil and New York during their 10-month journey.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
