If you want to irritate your customers, have your assistants give any change as notes first then coins on top. This incapacitates half of your valued client s' available hands while they struggle to separate coins for the pocket and notes for the wallet while they tut inwardly. Alternatively, coins in the palm then notes for the closed hand and thumb considerably reduces irritation and creates a happy punter. Simple really. Why the big shopkeepers can't include this in their training defeats us.
