New staff boost at Jackson Wines

09 February, 2007

Jackson Wine Estates International has appointed two new members of staff at its Chilean vineyard, Viña Calina.

Victor Baeza and Marcela Chandia have joined as general manager and assistant winemaker respectively.

Baeza has more than 15 years of experience including an eight-year stint as operations manager at Montes winery, where he led three wineries through a period of fast-paced growth.

Chandia has made wine in France, Portugal, South Africa and New Zealand and has already worked the 2001 harvest at Jackson's La Crema estate in California.

In addition to her assistant

winemaker role, Chandia will also be the primary global spokesperson for the wines.

President and managing director of Jackson Wine Estates International Tim Matz said: "The appointments of a new general manager and assistant winemaker to our Chilean vineyard enable us to strengthen our management team in order to lead Viña Calina to the next level within Chilean wine."
