If you had an extra hour in the day, what would you do with it?

Spend it in the warehouse packing orders.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of opening an off-licence?

You have better prospects and lower stress levels playing the penny slot machines at the seaside.

When did you first develop a passion for wine?

When I was about 16. I was working weekends moving boxes of wine for the family business and eventually getting to try some very exotic samples from all parts of the world.

What job would you choose to do if you were reincarnated?

Chocolatier.

A common misconception of me is?

If you know my name I will give you 30 per cent discount and let you pay in four months' time.

If you could swap jobs with anyone

for one day, who would it be?

Gordon Brown, to see exactly where

duty and taxes on alcohol are spent each year.

Is there such a thing as an irresponsible drink?

Any alcoholic drink in the wrong hands can be irresponsible. Large bottles of strong, cheap cider ha ve no place on anyone's shelves.

What is the first drink

that made you drunk?

Bell's

whisky - it was not a pretty sight and I am sure you can

guess what happened. It was a grim day afterwards.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

The thought of climbing back in after an exciting day's trade.

When you're not working how do you seek your thrills?

Spare time is such a luxury, I always seem to be working. Even the rare trip to watch Sheffield United is usually with customers.

What's the best age to be?

The year before you

find out that Santa isn't real.

Donald Trump: the US has much to learn from history

The reasons Donald Trump should not be left in charge of a shopping trolley, let alone the keys to the White House, are plentiful and well-documented – from his use of the word “bigly” and lamentable business legacy to his dubious post-modern feminist principles, quite astonishing lack of political acumen and, most worrying of all, his bewildering hair.
