Generous donations boost Benevolent

23 March, 2007

The Benevolent Ball last week made a net profit of more than £62,000 - a record performance. The drinks trade charity's event, held at London's Dorchester hotel, was attended by 390 people from the industry.

Benevolent chief executive Cheng Loo said: "Everyone enjoyed it . We had tremendous feedback and have had bookings already for next year."

The auction, which included a snow golf trip for four people with Chivas, raised more than £23,000. Proceeds will help former members of the drinks trade with health, housing and related needs.
