Top Tip

23 March, 2007

My top tip for other retailers is to stock Kopparbergs pear cider - it's going to be the drink of the summer. We've noticed that since getting it in before Christmas it's been out-selling Magners. If you had a graph showing sales, Magners would be a steady horizontal line while Kopparbergs would shoot up vertically. It's really taken off. And the beauty of it is that it's not price sensitive - we've been selling three bottles for ú5.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
