Thresher's vouchers: part two

The Thresher Group's latest discount voucher has resulted in a "double digit" sales boost, but failed to match its pre-Christmas promotion. Launched on March 23, Thresher's 40 per cent single-bottle discount ran for 10 days. Chief executive Roger Whiteside would only confirm that the increase in sales had reached double digits and that they had not matched the 60 per cent uplift seen at Christmas.

Coors 'unifies' off-trade team

Coors has created a new role overseeing its off-trade operations, and has named Adrian Davey as off-trade managing director. Davey, who had been in charge of multiple grocers, will cover impulse, convenience and wholesale. He reports to sales director John Holberry . Former impulse sales director John Heynen is director of logistics. Davey said: " This new structure presents the opportunity to unify our off-trade sales team ."

Timetable reset for label talks

The WSTA has agreed to an extended timetable for discussions on alcohol health labelling with the Department of Health. A draft memorandum of understanding, which lists the government's commitments if the industry agrees a voluntary approach, was reissued on March 26. As a result, the consultation deadline has been extended to April 20 with a government/industry meeting scheduled for April 27.
