and the brewery hopes it will soon be on supermarket shelves.
The dark stout with an espresso-coloured head is brewed to a recipe devised in 1946, and Farsons says it is creamy, velvety, not cloyingly sweet and not too bitter.
A spokesman said: "After years of decline consumers have rediscovered bottled stouts. Products such as Farsons Lacto milk stout are reinvigorating and regenerating this market.
"In response to requests from the United Kingdom, the Farsons brewery has revamped the brand's livery and image, but has been careful to retain the identical characteristics, ingredients and brewing process that have given the Farsons Lacto milk stout such an international reputation."
