Queen's Award for FlavorActiv

The beer flavour training company FlavorActiv has won a Queen's Award for Enterprise for its innovative beer tasting performance management tool.

The Taster Validation Scheme uses internet technology and flavour encapsulation techniques to help professional beer tasters monitor and improve their performance. It was

launched in 2002 , and has been picked

up by more than 5,000 professional beer tasters in 450 breweries .

"TVS is all about collaboration, and this award acknowledges the great collaboration between FlavorActiv and all of our customers," a spokesman said.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
