Design overhaul

United Biscuits is rolling out new pack designs for Skips, Discos, Nik Naks and Wheat Crunchies.

The revamp aims to modernise the brands and give them increased on-shelf stand-out. All four brands have also had their saturated fat content reduced by 50 per cent.

A BBQ Beef flavour will be added to the Discos range and multipacks of Wheat Crunchies Worcester Sauce and Nik Naks Scampi & Lemon flavour will be launched. Skips will also be available in multipacks of six and 10 (rrp £1.79).

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
