Green Goblin shows colours

Wychwood Brewery's Green Goblin cider has launched a tongue-in-cheek ad campaign it says will "throw conservative cider laws into panic with a number of cutting-hedge proclamations".

The campaign - So Oak-Aged It's Barking - features posters with joke political positions such as: "Making the elderly work harder - by using up to 100-year-old oak barrels"; "Accelerating climate change - by creating a warmer atmosphere with a Green Goblin party"; "Getting rid of the polar ice caps - by chopping 'em up and floating them in your Green Goblin cider"; and "Fighting globalisation - by using only English apples ."

A spokesman said: "Green Goblin is dismayed by present policies which so often see ciders aged in paltry plastics or sterile stainless steel rather than in wonderful, wooden vats.

"And as for all this rubbish about global warming, the ice cap should be used for chilling molars - not polars."

Green Goblin is listed in both Waitrose†and Sainsbury's at £1.69 for a 50cl bottle.

Hofmeister may need more than the bear essentials to succeed
