World brews come to Booths festival

01 June, 2007

Northern retailer Booths is

to hold a beer and cider festival across 18 of its stores this June.

The event will showcase more than 15 new beers and ciders from around the world - including such far-flung places as New Zealand, Peru and Indonesia.

And the supermarket will be selling two drinks made specially to celebrate its 160th birthday - Booths Anniversary Ale 160 and Booths 1847 vintage cider.

Beer buyer Dave Smith said: "This is the first time we've organised such an event. It's an ideal opportunity for us to showcase not only our existing range of beers and ciders, but for people to try something a bit different."

Booths has a 200-strong beer range, of which 55

hail from Cheshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cumbria.
