Seasonal US ales crossing the Pond

James Clay & Sons is

to sell beers from the US in

35.5cl bottles and 19.5-litre kegs.

Sales director Nigel Stevenson said: "America is now producing some of the world's most flavourful and exciting beers, and we will be offering wholesalers an increasing number of

seasonal specials .

Our next shipment includes

Anchor Summer Ale, Goose Island's delicate Kölsch-style summertime ale and Brooklyn's seasonal duo of East India Pale Ale and Pumpkin Ale.

The importer has added three US craft beer agencies to its portfolio - Colorado-based Flying Dog, Great Divide and Left Hand Brewing.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
