Return of Burn Stewart's team

29 June, 2007

Burn Stewart Distillers has parted company with its London-based distributor and brought sales back in-house.

The East Kilbride-based company, whose core brands include Scottish Leader and Bunnahabhain, has taken control of the sales operations from Paragon Vintners following a review of the business.

The newly-formed team includes several staff from Paragon as well as new recruits. Andy Calder will head up the team as regional sales director, with Chris O'Rourke appointed national account manager for the wholesale and cash and carry sector. In the off-trade, David Borthwick has rejoined the firm as national account manager.

Calder said: "This new structure is already working, especially for Scottish Leader. By bringing the sales function back to Scotland, we have ensured a continued focus on our core Scotch portfolio."
