San Miguel gets new ad campaign

Spanish lager San Miguel is being advertised on TV as part of a £12 million promotional campaign for the brand.

Brewer Scottish & Newcastle UK has come up with a 30 second TV ad called Three Ships which is designed to build on the beer’s Spanish provenance. It will air throughout July and August.

Anne Morrow, brand manager for San Miguel at S&N UK said: “The new 30-second film Three Ships targets the more inquisitive individual – a person who is likely to look at things more deeply and appreciate, for example, that there is more to Spain than the Costa del Sol.”

Volume sales of San Miguel have grown by 41 per cent since S&N acquired the UK rights to the brand in 2004.

What makes wine special

Reaching the 50th instalment of Hemming’s Way is hardly the biggest milestone, but I don’t need much of an excuse to pour myself a glass of champagne before getting dressed. It’s a better reason than I had for all 49 other instalments, anyway. Not that that stopped me.
