Stores will be judged by a panel of Rioja wine specialists on the diversity of their range and ideas for in-store promotions.
The winner and a guest will be taken on an expenses-paid trip to the Spanish region in the spring of 2008, and be featured in the pages of OLN. We'll also be reporting on the runners-up.
Last year's competition was won by Andrew Byrne, of D Byrne in Clitheroe, Lanc ashire, who had a dedicated Rioja window display for six weeks.
Byrne said: "Entering the competition last year gave me the opportunity to use various promotional mechanics to reach new and existing consumers. Since winning, my sales of Rioja have risen by nearly 60 per cent."
