Husband and wife team head up Corks Out

Cheshire-based independent wine merchant Corks Out has acquired a new sales director to help develop the business.

Ruth, is leaving his sales position at Concha & Toro after 16 years, to work alongside his wife.

He said: "I have enjoyed every second of my career with Concha & Toro and am immensely proud to have played a key role in its growth .

"However, in the past three -and -a -half years, Corks Out has seen such tremendous growth that there is clearly massive potential for the future."

Corks Out has branches in Stockton Heath and Chester and the husband and wife team

say they are looking to develop the retail side of the business as well as supplying

to the on-trade.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
