Old whisky has been aged in American oak before spending several months in casks previously filled
with sweet Austrian "straw wine" made by producer Willi Opitz.
Additional cask evolution gives whisky more complexity, according to chief executive Mark Reynier. " Afficianados hooked on
sherry casks will be blown away - there are similar†traits but more complexity, finesse and fruit thanks to the finer oak and totally unique straw wine," he said.
The whisky is described as having a rich toffee taste, with hints of cinnamon and cooked fruits.
