New appointment for Tesco wine buying team

07 August, 2007

Waverley TBS wine buying director, Pierpaolo Petrassi is to join Tesco's wine buying team.

Petrassi, who has worked in the trade for 20 years, will start as senior product development manager in October, taking responsibility for selecting wines from Australia, New Zealand and Italy.

Jason Godley, Tesco category manager for wines, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Pierpaolo has chosen to join us and be part of our wine team. He will further strengthen our already first-class buying team, bringing with him a great deal of experience and knowledge to add to the business."

Petrassi will replace Australia and New Zealand senior product development manager Phil Reedman. In addition he will select wines from Italy, with James Griswood assuming responsibility for Tesco’s South American portfolio.
