Old Rosie says cheese for prize

09 August, 2007

Westons Cider and Herefordshire cheesemaker Malvern Cheesewrights have created a white cheese flavoured with Westons' cider and ripe apple pieces, called Old Rosie Cheshire.

Old Rosie is a traditional cloudy scrumpy, and its namesake cheese has already scooped first prize at the Three Counties Show.

Westons account manager Helen Williams said: "Cider and cheese have always been the perfect taste combination and we are delighted to be working with such an innovative company as Malvern Cheesewrights.

Constellation-owned Gaymer's Orchard Reserve has also teamed up with cheesemaker Ilchester Cheese to make a cider-flavoured cheese.
