Focusing on robbery

IBP Group will hold its sixth annual Focus on Robbery Partnership Symposium on Sept 13 and 14

Thresher goes contactless

The Thresher Group is one of the first retailers to sign up to a new contactless payment system. Barclaycard Business's OneTouch system allows customers to pay for transactions

of less than £10 by simply holding a card against a special reader.

Benefits of the scheme are that it speeds up transactions, does not require PIN numbers or signatures, and reduces paper use as it does not produce receipts. For information on OneTouch call 0800 096 7111.

Esporão appoints

Charles Hawkins & Partners has been appointed UK agent for wine brand Herdade do Esporão. The company will take over from John E Fells from Sept 1. Charles Hawkins said: "I look forward to building the Esporão brand further, based on the solid groundwork established by Fells ."

Launches in the name of Art

Australia's Leeuwin Estate has added two new Chardonnays to its Art Series and Prelude Vineyards labels. The Art Series Margaret River 2004 Chardonnay has an rrp of £35 - £40 and the Prelude Vineyards 2005 Chardonnay has an rrp of £14.50 - £15.50. Both wines are available from UK importer Domaine Direct.

New wine atlas imminent

The sixth edition of The World Atlas of Wine will be released on Oct 18. Wine-writing duo Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson MW have teamed up to chart the significant changes and advances in the wine world since 2001. The book features 48 new pages and 20 new maps - including individual sections of the Napa Valley and up coming regions such as Toro in Spain, Constantia in South Africa and Australia's Lime Stone Coast. Published by Mitchell Beazley , it will go on sale for £35.

Echo Falls adds to range

Californian wine brand Echo Falls has added two new wines to its portfolio. The launch of the Pinot Grigio Blush (rrp £4.99) and Sparkling White Zinfandel (rrp £6.49) coincides with the new branding and positioning of the brand. Listings for the

additions have already been secured in Morrisons and Somerfield.
