Sherry finish for 17 Year Old Balvenie

The Balvenie is releasing a limited edition sherry-finish whisky next month.

The Sherry Oak 17 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been matured in European oak butts from the bodegas of Spain. Just 1,900 bottles will be available in the UK with an rrp of £60.

The Balvenie is owned by William Grant & Sons and is distributed in the UK through First Drinks Brands.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
