Bryan Ferry stars in new Carlsberg ad

07 September, 2007

Singer Bryan Ferry is to star in Carlsberg's latest TV ad.

The karaoke ad, part of the "World According to Carlsberg" campaign, will go on air for the first time tonight on ITV during the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup.

In the ad Ferry stars as the support act to three ordinary lads who receive an enthusiastic reception from thousands of fans after belting out a song on stage accompanied by a karaoke machine.

Darran Britton, marketing director at Carlsberg UK said: “Karaoke is another brilliant advert in the World According to Carlsberg campaign and we are sure that it will be a hit with lager drinkers across the country. Not many adverts can boast 25,000 extras and a music legend such as Bryan Ferry.”

The ad, produced by Saatchi & Saatchi, forms part of Carlsberg’s £13 million media spend for 2007 and will show on all ITV networks, Channel 4, Channel 5 and satellite channels.
